I tried to take a short vacation
And I went through a land I had lost
It was a mystic revelation
When I remembered forgotten thoughts
And I was so much in the mood for missing you
when I saw the beauty of this world I was going through
I saw your eyes before me, the color of the sky
But I realized you weren't there and I fell in the mood to cry

It was a sky like silk and satin
Pastel the colored world under mist
the setting sun paints clouds of fire
Canals reflect it through the black trees
& I was so much in the mood for loving you
when I saw the magic of the world I was going through
I saw you right before me, as if you were close by
