Holiday

Last week I spent a holiday
Upon an island far away
the sun kept shining every day
the nights so mild in every bay
But then I had to go back home
I'm homesick & I feel alone
It's raining & the wind is blowing
Reminds me of the sun that shone
I wish I had a holiday
I wish I could just get away
I hate to think I got to stay
when I consider the next day
I wish I had a holiday

I was as happy as can be
On that small island in the sea
& every day I could be me
Enjoy my time & feel so free
But now I'm back at work again
I can no longer go to swim
I look outside & see the rain
I got my memory on my brain
Just take me where the sky is blue
& nothing which I have to do
where life is fun & joy is true
Why don't you join me & come, too
The next vacation I will spend
Upon my island in the sand
escape the daily round again
Just come with me & take my hand
